Not for most people. You feel a light buffing and a cool, fizzy tingle where the gel bubbles. Say so if anything feels too strong.

Will I be red?

Skin may look a little pink for an hour or so. There is nothing to peel. Most people go back to work or errands.

How an OxyGeneo facial works

Your provider spreads a gel over your skin, then glides a handpiece across it. The tip buffs off dead skin as it moves.

Where the gel meets the tip, it bubbles. The maker says the bubbles draw oxygen to the surface of the skin. Most people feel a cool, fizzy tingle.

The treatment ingredients go on in the same pass, so buffing and treating happen together. OxyGeneo comes in versions for different goals, and your provider helps you choose.

  • You took isotretinoin, an acne pill, in the past six months.
  • You use a prescription retinoid or had a peel in the past week.
  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding. Some OxyGeneo versions contain retinol.

How long does an OxyGeneo facial take?

About 45 minutes from start to finish. That covers the skin check, the handpiece work and moisturizer. Most people go straight back to work or errands.

Is OxyGeneo the same as a HydraFacial?

No. Both exfoliate and treat the skin in one visit, but they work differently. OxyGeneo buffs while a gel bubbles on the skin. A HydraFacial uses suction to clear pores, then adds serum.

Does an OxyGeneo facial hurt?
