Lines that move and lines at rest
Dynamic lines come from the muscles under the skin. They appear when you frown, raise your brows or smile, and fade when your face relaxes. Over the years, they can become etched and remain at rest.
Static lines, visible at rest, come from loss of collagen (the protein that keeps skin firm), loss of volume and sun damage. Fine lines around the eyes, smile lines and crepey skin are in this group. Most faces have both types, so many plans combine two treatments.
Wrinkle treatments at Magic FemTouch
Each treatment works by a different mechanism. Your provider matches the treatment to the type of line.

Forehead wrinkles treatment and crow's feet
Forehead lines, frown lines and crow's feet are movement lines. Botox and other wrinkle relaxers relax the muscle that creates them. Results usually appear within one to two weeks and last a few months.
Lines that remain when your face is at rest may need a second treatment. Your provider assesses your facial movement before recommending a plan. See how long Botox lasts and what sets the cost of Botox.

Fine lines and crepey skin
Fine lines at rest respond to treatments that stimulate new collagen. Microneedling and the Moxi laser work near the surface. Sculptra stimulates collagen gradually in deeper layers.
These require a series and a few months to show results. They combine well with wrinkle relaxers, which treat dynamic lines.
Smile lines and deeper lines
The lines from nose to mouth, called nasolabial folds, deepen as the cheeks lose volume. Dermal fillers soften them, and filler in the cheek can reduce the downward pull on them.
If your cheeks look flatter than they used to, see facial volume loss. For lines around the mouth, see thin lips.
What a wrinkle plan looks like
- 1Facial assessment
Your provider evaluates your face in motion and at rest, then recommends a plan.
- 2Early results
Wrinkle relaxers take effect in a week or two. Filler settles in about two weeks.
- 3Collagen stimulation
Microneedling, laser and Sculptra show cumulative results over a series.
- 4Maintenance
Wrinkle relaxers are repeated every few months. Skin treatments are repeated once or twice a year for maintenance.

What is the right wrinkle treatment for me?
It depends on the type of line. Lines that appear with movement, like forehead lines and crow's feet, respond to wrinkle relaxers. Deeper lines at rest respond to fillers. Fine lines and crepey skin respond to microneedling, lasers and peels. At Magic FemTouch MedSpa in Oak Lawn, your provider identifies which type you have.

Questions
Fine line and wrinkle questions
What is the difference between fine lines and wrinkles?
Fine lines are shallow and often show first around the eyes and mouth. Wrinkles are deeper folds that can remain when your face is at rest. Both result from movement, collagen loss and sun exposure.
What treatment works on forehead wrinkles?
Forehead lines that show when you raise your brows usually respond to wrinkle relaxers. Lines that remain at rest may also need microneedling or a laser. Your provider assesses your forehead movement before recommending a plan.
How do you treat crow's feet?
Crow's feet are movement lines, so wrinkle relaxers are the usual first step. Fine, crepey skin around the eyes can also respond to microneedling. Your provider decides after examining the area.
Can I combine wrinkle treatments?
Yes, and many plans do. A common combination is wrinkle relaxers for dynamic lines and microneedling or a laser for fine lines at rest. Your provider spaces the sessions so the skin recovers between them.
At what age should I start wrinkle treatment?
There is no set age. Many people start in their late 20s or 30s, when lines first remain visible at rest. Daily sunscreen is important at every age.
Will I still look like me?
That is the goal. Your provider aims to soften lines while preserving natural expression, and often starts with a conservative dose. More can be added at a later visit.
How much does wrinkle treatment cost?
The cost depends on the treatment, the areas treated and the number of sessions. Your provider gives you the price at your consultation.
