How long does Botox last?

What makes Botox wear off sooner or last longer

  • Dose: a smaller dose can wear off sooner.
  • The area: small doses near the mouth often fade sooner than frown lines.
  • Muscle strength: strong muscles can use up the effect faster.
  • Exercise: some people who work out hard find it fades a little faster.
  • A steady routine: some people find lines stay softer after a few rounds in a row.

Your injector sets the dose for each area. Tell them how long your last treatment lasted.

How often should you get Botox?

Most people come back every three to four months, when movement returns. You don't need a fixed date. Book when the lines start to show again.

Full treatments are usually spaced at least 12 weeks apart. A small top-up near the two-week mark is a different thing. Ask your injector what fits your areas.

Is Botox 3 times a year too much?

For most people, no. A few visits a year is a common routine, since each one lasts about three to four months.

The dose and the spacing matter more than the count. Treating much more often is not usually advised. Your injector can tell you what is right for your face.

What happens if you stop getting Botox?

The muscles go back to moving the way they did before. The lines come back slowly over a few months.

Your face does not age faster because you stopped. You can start again any time, and your injector plans the dose from there.

Questions

Questions about how long Botox lasts

How long does Botox take to work?

Most people notice movement softening in three to five days. The full effect shows at about two weeks. Deeper lines can take the whole two weeks.

Does Botox last longer the more you get it?

For some people, yes. With regular treatments, lines can stay softer between visits. It is not true for everyone, and your injector can tell after a few rounds how your face responds.

Does Dysport last longer than Botox?

For most people, no. Both usually last about three to four months. Some people find one lasts a little longer for them.

Why did my Botox wear off so fast?

A smaller dose, strong muscles and hard exercise can all shorten it. Tell your injector when it wore off. They may change the dose next time.

Can I make my Botox last longer?

Follow the aftercare on the first day and keep a steady routine. Wear sunscreen every day. The dose your injector sets matters most.

How long does Botox last in the forehead?

About three to four months for most people, like the frown lines and crow's feet. Small doses near the mouth often fade sooner.
