Botox vs Dysport, side by side
These are general figures for each product. They are not a promise for your face.
| Botox | Dysport | |
|---|---|---|
| Approved in the US for frown lines | Yes | Yes |
| When some people notice it | In a few days | Sometimes a day or so sooner |
| Full effect | About 2 weeks | About 2 weeks |
| How long it usually lasts | About 3 to 4 months | About 3 to 4 months |
| Unit scale | The usual reference | A different scale: more units for each area |
| Offered at our Oak Lawn clinic | Yes | Yes |
How your face responds can differ. Your injector sets the dose for your muscles.

Is Dysport stronger than Botox?
No. Dysport is measured on a different scale, so the same area takes more Dysport units than Botox units. A bigger number does not mean a stronger dose.
That is why unit prices are hard to compare. Compare the price for the same areas instead. See what sets the cost of Botox.
Some injectors find Dysport spreads a little more, which can suit a wide area like the forehead. Others like Botox for small, exact spots.

Botox or Dysport: which one should you get?
For most people the result is close, so the choice is often simple.
- If one brand worked well for you before, staying with it is a fair choice.
- If you want to try another, tell your injector which brand you had, the areas and how long it lasted.
- Judge any new product at about two weeks, when the full effect shows.
At any clinic, it is fair to ask which product is in the syringe. For a first visit, see what happens at your first Botox appointment.

Questions
Botox and Dysport questions
Is Dysport cheaper than Botox?
The unit price can look lower, but Dysport takes more units for the same area. So compare the price for the same areas. Your injector prices it at your consult.
Which lasts longer, Botox or Dysport?
For most people they last about the same, around three to four months. Your dose, your muscles and the area matter more than the brand. Some people find one lasts a bit longer for them and stick with it.
Can I switch from Botox to Dysport?
Yes, many people try both over time. Tell your injector which brand you had, the areas and how long it lasted. That helps set the first dose of the new one.
Which wrinkle relaxers does Magic FemTouch offer?
At our Oak Lawn clinic we offer Botox and Dysport. Your injector suggests one for your areas, and explains why, at the consult. Ask any question about it before you decide.
Why does my wrinkle relaxer wear off faster than it used to?
The dose, the areas or your muscles may have changed. Tell your injector how long the last one lasted. They can talk through a change in dose or a switch between Botox and Dysport.
